Services at the CVIS involve no additional personal expense for most patients. For a patient with health insurance coverage, there is never a cost to becoming a patient (i.e., to open a medical chart) or to have access to diagnostic services (e.g., medical supplies and related analyses) and related treatments (e.g., IV therapies). Patients should have valid coverage through:
- The Quebec health insurance program (RAMQ, “carte soleil”)
- Another provincial health insurance program (coverage is for the first 3 months of residence in Quebec)
- A private insurance provider (i.e., students, workers)
- The Federal Interim Health Program (e.g., refugees, asylum seekers)
The clinic hours are 08h00-17h00 Monday to Friday. Patients requiring the services of the Day Hospital (e.g., for evaluation of new health problems such as those possibly related to HIV and HCV disease or related treatment), are recommended to contact the CVIS (514-843-2090) prior to presenting at the clinic. Patients will be able to speak to one of the CVIS nurses to help evaluate their problem and provide guidance regarding next steps.
